Role Overview:
As the Licensing and Contracting Department Supervisor, you will be accountable for ensuring accurate and timely processing of appointments, hierarchies and contracts in compliance with state and federal licensing rules and regulations. This includes supervising, training and evaluating the team as well as setting department priorities and coordinating projects with other departments, while supporting the company's growth and improvement of processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Carrier Relations and Compliance (40% of role):
- Review and submit contracting online or via email to various carrier partners to appoint agents
- Process and submit hierarchies for new agents and agent changes
- Order and process Errors and Omissions certificates
- Work with the field to update AML training for carrier compliance requirements
- Ensure CEO and company licensure remains current across all operating states
Team Management (30% of role):
- Coach and train employees
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Handle personnel issues
- Manage time off and attendance
- Cover team responsibilities during absences
Process Management (30% of role):
- Research and respond to inquiries from field and home office staff
- Update agent files and PFA Portal
- Manage workflow adjustments
- Work cross-functionally with other PFA departments
- Travel to National Life Group (NLG) Corporate Office bi-annually
- Participate in weekly NLG team meetings
Required Qualifications:
- 4-5 years experience in insurance or financial services industry operations with at least 2 years in the industry
- Demonstrated experience with state insurance regulations and contracting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Ability to utilize multiple monitors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Monday, Slack, and Help Scout
- Active public notary status
- Prior supervisory experience

Work Schedule:
